Give a Day. Get a Disney Day
Volunteer with the Canadian Diabetes Association’s Clothesline® program and receive a free day pass to a Disney theme park*
Volunteer with the Canadian Diabetes Association
Spring break is fast approaching and Disney, with Volunteer Canada, are offering you the opportunity to volunteer with the Canadian Diabetes Association Clothesline® program (as well as other registered charities) for a day and in return receive a free day pass to a Walt Disney World® or Disneyland® theme park.* It is easy to get involved with the Canadian Diabetes Association Clothesline® program, simply visit disneyparks.ca and register online.
Once registered, search for the Canadian Diabetes Association Clothesline® program and sign up to collect five bags of reusable clothing and drop them off at your local Clothesline® office. Everyone in the family can get involved (each earning a free Disney Park pass), children as young as 6 years old may volunteer as long as they are supervised by an adult. Even if you are unable to attend a Disney Park yourself, once you have earned your Disney Park pass, you have the option of donating it to a child in need with “Dreams Take Flight Canada.”
“Give a Day. Get a Disney Day” will run until December 15, 2010 and passes must be used within this timeframe. The number of free day passes are limited, so register today and volunteer with the Canadian Diabetes Association Clothesline® program.
Each year Clothesline® donations divert more than 41 million kilograms of clothing and household items from our landfills. This translates into a savings of 766 million kWh of energy and reduces our donors’ carbon footprint by 105 million kilograms of CO2 emissions. This energy savings is enough to power more than 42,000 households for an entire year.
Volunteer with Clothesline® and make a difference in the fight against diabetes. 100 per cent of the proceeds from donations are used to help the Canadian Diabetes Association support the 9 million Canadians living with or at risk of diabetes.
* Please visit disneyparks.ca for a full list of participating Disney properties.
